I live near my family, so visiting isn't so much of a big deal.
Just yesterday, my family (including husband's parents & brother's family) visited my father-in-law's aunt - she just turned 94. We spent the whole day with her and her daughter, fixed a great lunch for the group (ham, mashed potatoes, yams, salad, pie, etc.). Even the young ones (ages 1 through 5) had a great day in the country, picking acorns off the tree and searching for great big pinecones.

Are you kidding? I just got back from taking my mom & her sister on a 2 week tour of Canada to visit relatives, go to a grand-nieces's wedding & check out family history. Yesterday I went to my husband's ex-wife's & my stepdau.'s party & today had lunch with another aunt...
It was all great. One day they (or you) will be gone & every minute is worth it. (Oh yeah-amonth ago saw my bro in Montana, & my other bro in Philly this month, & talk to my mom 2X a week on the phone - she so digs it)
So everybody out there...CALL YOUR MOM TOMORROW .

my parents came for dinner tonight, I visited my out of town relatives in April.

I am an only child and my mom died last year with my dad in an auto accident caused by an under age drunk driver whose parents bought the booze.

This evening. I had dinner with my my cousin. I haven't seen him and his wife in two years. It's the first time I've seen him without the rest of my family being there. It was good.
