Something is amiss, what is it?

I'm 22yrs old and I'm always bored with the life I'm leading and I crawl into my own cocoon to make things easier. The only times I ever feel alive are when living as an expatriate in some far off country? I don't feel alive when I'm in my own country, I just feel like I'm existing rather than living.

Have you ever sat down and written a list of all the things you are thankful for? You can't be grateful and bored at the same time. Ask yourself a few very important questions: What is the one thing you would do and enjoy doing even if you didn't get payed for it? That would be your passion in life, and when you find your passion, you will never be bored again.
Learn to live in the moment and enjoy that moment to the fullest. Tomorrow isn't promised to us, and yesterday is over and gone. The only thing we have for sure is right now, and if now is spent being happy, we assure for ourselves a brighter tomorrow.
At twenty-two you, are just starting life, and you have a lot of wonderful times ahead of you.
Doing something nice for another is a good way to get out of yourself and the blues, and it helps both you and the other person.
If you still feel bored and unable to feel perhaps there is a deeper reason, and you could benefit from a little counseling .
It's good that you can express how you are feeling because you're able to admit it, and you stand a much better chance of feeling better by talking about it. I wish you lots of happiness

You're TOO self-absorbed. You need to get OUT of your life- and experience how others live (prefferably others who are a LOT worse off- than YOU!). Lose yourself in the World, and the "Answers" will find YOU. Good luck!
