I have to write a business letter to a company and ask them to donate merchandise to my school. I chose Barnes & Noble (Book Store). I have to figure out what address I'm going to send the letter to and the name of who I'm going to send it to. But my problem is Barnes & Noble has a lot of stores, and the teacher just said to write it to the main person of Barnes & Noble and I don't know who that is. So could you help me figure out who to write it to and where to get the address from?

Thanks in advance.

If you go to the website, there's an "about us" link which will lead you to the corporate website. The link for their team is http://www.barnesandnobleinc.com/our_company/management_team/management_team.html

and you would be writing, in theory, to Leonardo Riggio, the founder and CEO. However, I would recomend you consider writing instead to Mary Ellen Keating, Senior V.P. of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.

At www.barnesandnoble.com, on the left-hand side of their homepage it says "Find your local Barnes and Noble store." Enter your zip code, click "Find" and it will list the stores nearest to your hometown.

At www.barnesandnobleinc.com/our_company/customer_service/customer_service.html it gives the corporate address in New York City, an 800-toll free phone number, and an email address (customerservice@bn.com)

I would go talk to a manager of your local Barnes and Noble store and explain the situation to him/her. Manager should have access to information that you seek. You may even ask if the manager will make a donation from his/her store. Manager may have to make a few calls so, it may take some time.
Hope that works and you succeed.
