Ever noticed that the severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach?

oh yeah. don't you feel crazy when your back tches right smack in the middle along your spine and you can't figure whether to reach with left or right hand over your shoulder, or should you reach like you are hugging yourself with one arm, or should you fold your arm towards the back and stretch your thumb, or just grab a d*mn ruler to use. and eventually when the itch worsens, it seems to itch all over your body and no matter how hard you scratch the itch anywhere just don't go away? and when you reach the right spot, all the itch is gone (?)
