I think the answer is there is none. I know that if that did happen to be the answer, which is a distinct possibility, we would just make up a reason why our lives were important anyway. If God didn't exist, we would make Him up anyway to make ourselves feel better. What is the divine purpose of a bacteria colony? There is none. And I don't think there is one for us either. In the end we are just extremely complex bacteria and our intelligence forces us to contrive a purpose for our lives when there is none.

If you have your brother or your sister, or if you have your mother and your father, you LISTEN TO ME. Do not fight with them, do not call them names. Let them be right and hug them and kiss them and tell them that you love them, do everything you can to make them feel happy and appreciated. Whatever you think you're mad about believe me it is not important; one day they will be gone forever and you'll realize whatever you were mad about was NEVER important. Please listen to me.

Our human nature demands that our lives are worth living. Worth is the same as meaning. We get real worth from living for a real purpose. Real purpose requires God by the very definition of the word "purpose".

If we reject God, then we have to find things to do that will make us feel good about ourselves and/or forget about our meaningless existence. To feel good about ourselves, we might do some good deed which leads to real or imagined praise which, in turn, we perceive as giving us worth in the eyes of others. Of course, it is self deception.

We don't invent God, we just invent purposes and because they get us praise or make us feel good, we accept them as purpose. Examples, "live love and die" heroic; "The purpose of life is enlightenment." praiseworthy; "Be happy and help others" applause.

Be happy and help others. Cant have one without the other. That's the secret. I do not believe in the Judean Christian God in the traditional sense but I do believe we have a purpose and that we are here for some reason. I believe that current religions have it all wrong. Religion has nothing to do with God. We are here to learn something, break negative patterns and return to the light. There are too many coincidences here to dismiss. Bacteria does serve a purpose. Its how life begun. Peace.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The human race survives because of a cycle of nurturing, parents to offspring.

The providing of love enables the drive for life to continue on, children maturing into adults then the creation of more offspring.

The purpose of life is love.

And if they are sexually assaulting you every night, who cares. Whatever you are mad about was never important.

And if they were beating you daily, who cares. Whatever you are mad about was never important.

In fact, we should give them a hug. Some of us have privileged lives, I imagine.

Loving someone who abuses you is dangerous advice. Ever wonder why society is the way that it is? We now have an answer.

The purpose of life is to make ourselves happy . If we are well adjusted / well functioning a big part of what makes us happy will be to make those we care about happy , and to not make ourselves happy at the unfair expense of others .

non secular human beings: people who're non secular have a objective, we predict of that if we do sturdy in earth, and not undesirable we can circulate to heaven/paradise and stay their for eternity. Non non secular human beings/Athiest: think of that they are right here in earth and that's it, so they attempt to learn from it, have a existence, family participants, having exciting and somewhat some issues. And to themselves they haven't any limit of doing undesirable deeds.
