My parents dated on and off for 5 years before getting married. They have now been happily married for over 30 years.

My boyfriend and I now have broken up once, and we are planning to get married next summer.

I think it's common for couples to break up at some point before marrying. Most of my good married friends had a "break" at some point, then realized how much they loved the person and got back with them.

I dated a guy whilst i became 18 for greater or less 6 months. some years later, we've been given back in touch, and finally ended up getting married and having a daughter. 8 years after that, he and that i are divorced. He ought to have stayed an ex.

I was married once before my current marriage of almost 25 years. I put up with my lousy first husband for 7 horrible years and cannot imagine for a second going back to that way of life. My only regret is that I didn't divorce him sooner. If I went to all of the trouble of getting a divorce, then why go back? You know as well as I do that it will not make them better people. Sorry to be so blunt but you deserve better. You new life is just outside your door tomorrow morning :-)

Yes which is why I strongly am against it now , I didnt make a habit of staying in touch with ex boy friend's when ti ended it usually ended badly , but with my 2nd husband we'd managed to split amicably and gone our own seperate ways and when I ran into him again I was a couple of months off divorce and he was just moving his 1st wife out of their house into another house he owned , it took us month's to reconnect past friendship , but we married and had a son.

And if you've read my past questions and my past answer's you know the rest , we're seperated.

yes, it was very complicated, lived between 7-10hrs apart at all times sometimes further due to military. we actually broke up atleast 3x's and even stayed apart for around 8 months at one point. then we came to realize that we couldn't live without each other, got back together and married in less than 2 months. still together today!

No. I got back together in two relationships and it was an even more intense disaster the second time through. Enough of that.

I am just now getting a divorce, but I have to say I have pondered the what if's , but I seriously doubt it. I want to get away from the pain and disappointment of this relationship... not get back in~

Yep! We broke up for a little while when we were younger and immature...we got back together and everything is perfect and we are happily married and just bought our first house.
