Why was the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and the policies of the new Soviet government so inspiring to the Asian revolutionaries during the 1920s and 1930s? what did the Soviet Union hope to gain by supporting anti-colonial movements? Because the working people saw that they could take their fate into their own hands and get rid of the ruling classes who had oppressed them for centuries.
Like many revolutions the outcome was not always favorable.
