I am looking into buying a gaming PC, and I am wondering whether I should buy one with one nVidia 8800GTS (320 MB) or the other that has two nVidia 8500 GT (512 MB).

Well usually you can only have one. The computer would usually reject the other. However ATI has a line of cards called crossfire. If you have two crossfire cards installed then the system will take advantage of both cards to help boost the graphics. So I would recommend you get some crossfires if you want multiple cards.

in this case, the one 8800gts will still kill the two 8500gts.
