I've built a haunted yard for about 15 or so years now. My sons are grown and have started helping me. This year we will have three 'rooms', an open air display, a cemetary, a variety of animated monsters and 5 'live' monsters mixed in with the fake ones. It's aimed mostly at teenagers, it's pretty scary and gory in places, but the little ones love it when we scare the crap out of mommy or daddy! Last year we had close to 150 people come through. Considering it was in a new location, no advertising, beyond word of mouth, that was pretty good. I have a lot of new gags for this year and I expect at least twice as many people to show. Happy Halloween!

I'm 46 and I still love to dress up for Halloween. Usually Halloween night we dress up and stay home watching our favorite scary movies. That way we're there to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I love seeing the little kids in their adorable costumes.

Usually the weekend before or after, we go out to a party or bar where people are dressing up. Sometimes we go to a play or other performance of a Halloweenie type show. There's a dance troupe that does Thriller and some other fun things every year and it's awesome.

We always throw Halloween parties. We all dress up, bring a dish or two. Buffolo wings are great on all hallow's eve by the way~
;)
My friend, Marc even sets up his own haunted house or trail. He sets up a lil' booth where you can get your picture taken. He has a scalfold where we stick our heads threw then he takes the pic.
He built this casket last year that had lights glowing up from under neither somehow. He put ice in it and thats where we kept our drinks!
He's very clever.
He's having another one this year.
Hope I win the Best Costume Prize!!!

(Sheeesh, he needs to start charging ppl for this!)

;)

Halloween costumes, parties, taking the kids out, going to haunted houses, watching movies, decorating the house and yard, scaring trick or treaters, drinking, whatever.

Halloween is the most fun holiday of them all.

Try this. If you want to do something different, host your own upscale adult party, fully equipped with alcohol, sexy and original costumes, hor'dourves , creepy and exotic gifts, even some cool party games. If this seems like something that could evolve into a tradition, you might want to keep it cleaner than a rave, but let your guests know that you want a quality party with guests who know how to act in public. You could also charge admission and offer cash money prizes etc.. for any awesome party games you decide on. I hope this helps.
Have fun decorating.
p.s I cannot spell!!

By dressing up the yard, then dressing up yourself in scary attire. Be sure and leave on the porch light and be ready with a bowl of candy. In fact spend at least $20 on candy, and the kids will keep coming.

Bruce -lots of adults have Halloween parties for other adults. We don't go Trick-or-Treating, but we sure have lots of fun.

I have parties or attend them. In my younger adult days (21+ before kids) I used to go to popular bars and enter costume contests. Now that I have kids, I make lots of food and invite people over, costumed or not.

I also spend a lot of time putting together elaborate indoor and outdoor decorations. It's now expected of me but that's no problem. I love doing it!

By taking their kids out to trick or treat...

and/or

By dressing up and passing out candies to the children who come to their house.

Everyone has fun - even adults... You just need the Halloween spirit!

Usually a party. An excuse to dress funny, (or sexy/sleazy), and drink.

The way we celebrate, hand out 'full size' candy bars, decorate our porch scary, dress in costume and take turns taking our kids trick-or-treating.
