Of course! That's called Murphy's law. Likewise, if you're in a long checkout lane in a store and they open a new lane, it gets crowded before you get there, and your old lane also gets longer before you get back.

Yes, it happened with me before, always, in grocery store, train rides, rest room.

But lately, I changed my habit, I always stay with the line I first fall into.

that's why i don't change lanes that often in a traffic-jammed highway. people can jump to the left with pleasure so i can have a speedier lane =D
