No we can't - LET ME EXPLAIN:
I think that a girl can live without a man's support, but she cannot live without some support, whether it be a man or woman. Everyone needs help in their lives and somebody to be there. If you have a good family or sibilings, of course they will be useful, but parents will died and siblings lead their own life and then what?
Practicaly therefore, a man's support is helpful. Girl's grow up and fall in love with a good man who will be their best friend in life - he and the children borne will be the next round of people who can support you.
I don't say a man only can support us, but I would prefer a good man to be with me till death. Then again, I have had the advantage of an excellent father's love and support, so that maybe why I'm not saying outright YES! to this question.

If you feel the itch to be in a relationship is one thing but as an individual, of course not. Are you looking for validation for your current situation? That is a different story. Your needs are up to you. Are you looking for a companion or the level of intimacy that a relationship provides? Otherwise, nobody "needs" a man for cripes sake. That is a question only you can answer. As for me, I don't need one but I prefer to have someone cool to hang/be intimate w/ but I would like to think that I would never settle just to have somebody by my side. You only develop as person if you are willing and invite the same types of people and situations into your life.

it is impossible to exist in this world without dealing with a member of the opposite gender at some point, and if the species is to survive then at least some of those members need to interact in some way, even if its just through a sperm bank. The human race cannot survive without some interaction between genders.
Since it is impossible for a person to go through life without some interaction with at least one member of the opposite gender, and we are shaped by our experiences, then i would say that your question is an extreme and totally unreal hypothetical. im sure that a woman could physically survive without ever seeing or dealing with a man, however there is no telling what her mental conceptions of gender would be. it would depend on if she knew of the existence of men or not and how she had come across that knowledge.

Probably. She won't have kids probably, but she could live to old age maybe.
I'm a man, so I wouldn't know. I could survive without other people for quite a long time, but that's because I don't mind the idea of being a hermit. It's not much of a life though and not having kids is probably missing out on an important part of life.

They may live like Nuns do but with even more yearning for them than in normal conditions.Being complimentary as well as supplementary to each other, as devised by nature, they may survive without each other but it wouldn't be a rich and complete life for any one of them.By the way, what's the compulsion to defy Nature and opt for a stunted life?Go back to the Hunter and Gatherer phase of human race and every thing would be clearer and self explanatory.

As an individual, no woman NEEDS a man - either to support her or as a lover. Though we do all need love and support from somewhere. No [woman] is an island.
As a society, absolutely not. Even aside from the obvious inability to breed. We are Yin and Yang. And, just as our society is out of balance now, in our still male centered world, it would be just as out of balance in a female centered world.

No for one it takes one to create you and hopefully one to help raise you.[ Teach you and be allowed to live in the home to emotionally support you not just with child ransom {child support}] And what about the soldiers that protect your nation and the police that protect your city, firemen, doctors, even the trash collector is probably male. A woman can certainly be independent and take care of herself but we all need support from the other gender.

Men are everywhere, and it's pretty damn hard to go through life without interacting with at least one of them. But women can certainly survive without romantic love from a man. In fact, men need us in that respect way more than we need them.

I don't think women can live without men but I am sure a woman can survive in a dangerous situation without men.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I know women who have been without a man for decades and they're still breathing. I have been single for a year and I'm still alive?
