Garlic really never had anything to do with Vampires warding them off and such..
It was used by gravediggers when they were digging up bodies thought to be vampires.. they wore garlic around their necks to cover the stench of the rotting corpses..

Garlic was traditionally worn by gravediggers/robbers for the purpose of covering foul odors of decay. Because it warded of the scent of death, garlic was believed to be repulsive to vampires. It was a silly urban legend. Another silly one is the legend that a vampire cannot cross the threshold of a home without permission. If it were that easy, why were people so afraid? lol.
Another thing about garlic. Since its a natural anticoagulant (blood thinner) it was thought that vampires feared it. Eating garlic on a regular basis, thus keeping it in your system, was thought to ward off vampires as well. Garlic, entered directly into a vampire, or garlic infused blood being consumed by a vampire, was thought to cause it great pain and lasting discomfort. The idea is primitive and absurd, but thats what people believed way back then.

No that's just a myth. I'm an energy or psy vamp and I can go out in the day and I actually love garlic. I don't drink blood but I do drain energy from people without them even realizing it. Any questions? Email me at ILoveMCR2146@aol.com

Id say it also has an allergic effect on mosquitos , try eating garlic or rubbing it on your skin when mosquitos usually roam, and you will see the diffrence . They wont suck your blood anymore! Im not sure if it applies to bats though.

Vampires are said to have extra sensory perception which is why strong smells like garlic, onions etc ward them off.

I personally love garlic as does my fiancee. The old myth that it harms us is absurd and misinformed. But obviously thats one of the things this group is for is to help share information to help dispell the myths surrounding each of us.

What I have read is that vampires tend to be hyper sensitive
as in they can see, hear, and smell things we cannot
and garlic is very, very strong.
