Gah... PE. The bain of my junior high years.
I would honestly tell your parents and have them write a letter. Parents generally tend to be more noticed than kids, unfortunately.
It is unfair, but I think her whole point was to make the rest of you responsible for THEIR actions, and peer-pressure them into doing what they are supposed to do.
That said, you shouldn't have to pay for the lazy girls. Especially since you did what she said to do. If your parents won't help you, go to your school councelor. Keep trying, someone will notice.

You must have a wonderful school to have a swimming pool!! We don't have that opportunity. But, having said that, I believe that if your parents are not concerned, then it is time to speak to the teacher. My experience tells me that a respectful, well thought out discussion is usually received by an adult. keep in mind, your discussion should be limited to the actual events, (I was dressed, and participated), not her shortcomings (I think your rule is stupid)
Also, please discuss during her planning period, or other time when she is not with the entire class. She will not be embarrassed or feel like you are challenging her authority.
Stating upfront that you respect her rules, and understand that she is a good teacher will help her to receive your comments that follow.
Tell her how your feeling cold affects your other classes, and mention that other students probably feel the same way.
If she seems like she won't change, don't worry, sometimes it takes a little time to sink in, and she will possibly change her mind later.
If this fails, I would recommend wearing your sweatshirt for 2nd period...and give her a few days to soften.

Talk to her and politely give her your opinion . If that doesn't work go to the principal. She shouldn't be able to make you swim if it is cold and not give you an opportunity to get dry before your next class. Since when is an activity in p. e. a punishment I thought the purpose of p.e. was to teach kids the fun in physical exercise so they make it a part of their lives and are more healthy.

Your PE teacher sounds like a real dork! You might want to talk to your parents about this, and they can call the school and talk with the principal. SHe has no reason to punish all of you folks, just because 6 girls will not dress up for class. The 6 girls should be punished and not the whole class. This is unfair to all of you students, especially swimming in an unheated pool, and risking catching cold, and pnemonia. IF this happened to me, I would most defineatly talk to my patrents about it, and they wouild call the principal, and even have a conference with him/her, and explain what is going on in class.

Do you really think she will make you guys do it? I bet she was just making a threat and won't follow through with it. I bet she knows better than to put the health of her students on the line because she got mad--that could get her in big trouble. See what happens Friday and if it's really cold and you all have to swim, say something to your principal.

It is so completely and totally unfair. Teachers should have a time limit on their teaching career or a test because when they've been teaching too long, they tend to get sadistic toward their students. Hopefully this will come to the attention of the administration if she doesn't come to her senses soon.

You should as a group voice your complaints as they can not make you swim in cold pools in cold weather. If the PE teacher will not consider your point of view take it to the head principal, If they will do nothing take it to your parents who can take it to the school board.

She better hope nobody comes down with a COLD! she'll be liable! I don't think she can *legally make you swim if it's cold outside. She could lose her job.
I think it's just a scare tactic to get everyone to dress down.
