It also notifies "Real Property" that a judgment has been made against a judgment debtor. This allows no sale or transaction on any properties owned by the judgment debtor unless the Satisfaction of Judgment has been filed.

An abstract of judgment is a critical "next step" in collecting a judgment. In some states, the abstract is an automatic. But in our state - Texas - this must be filed separately from the judgment.

An abstract of judgement shows the amount due from the judgement debtor after judgement has been rendered by the court. After trial, you get the court to approve the abstract of judgement for filing with the county recorder.
