High school students from Fowlerton fall into the boundary area for the La Salle County area and attend Cotulla High School. In order to attend Southwest High School, the students are supposed to live inside the catchment area for the Southwest ISD. This is normally not easy to get by due to the taxes being different in two not only different counties, but also counties with another county between them. As has been previously stated, it is possible to have the student live with a relative or guardian in the Southwest ISD area, but otherwise they usually do not have mechanisms for collecting tuition in public schools. Additionally, there have been problems brought up in the past with students who were attending schools outside their assigned districts, being ineligible for sports, and interscholastic league activities.

You should contact the schools in both districts to determine the issues prior to making any decisions which might cause issues for the student later. We have always solved this problem by deciding where we wanted our children to go to school, and then moving to that school's catchment area, even then, once the school boundaries moved and we were left at our selected school by only 2 blocks.

In a word no, but maybe. If you have family/friend that lives in the school district and the child lives with them then the child would be able to attend. On memory only I knew a child that went to school with me that didn't live in town. His parents had to pay for him to be able to attend. I make the suggestion that you contact either the school or the school district Office and inquire there.

No. You are in La Salle County and thus would have to attend Dilley ISD schools. For more information please check this website. http://www.dilleyisd.net/ or call 830-965-1912

If your child resides with someone in the district at least 60% of the time and you have given them legal residency and guardianship over your child during this time period then yes, your child may attend a school in another district.

For more information check the school district or Texas Education Agency's website.
