In MLB, if a player doesn't make the playoff roster, do they still travel with the team?

no they cant they have to go home

At least some do. Legitimately injured players can be replaced, and teams can make roster moves between postseason rounds (maybe they want an extra hitter for the short Division Series, but prefer an extra pitcher for the longer LCS).

yes they can, but they have to pay for their own food, lodging and rentals.
