There was a love potion in Midsummer Night's Dream. Is that the same as a spell? Puck delivered it to the wrong guy, Lysander I think instead of Demetrious and the wrong guy fell in love with Helena and the fairy queen fell in love with the guy who looked like a donkey. I think they finally got it all straightened out but it was very confusing while it was happening. And the other girl got her feelings hurt when her boy friend fell in love with Helena.
Okay. How about Glaucus and Scylla? Maybe it wasn't exactly a love spell because Scylla didn't fall in love with Glaucus but Circe's potion did succeed in eliminating the competition.

A person that uses a binding type of love spell to keep the other with them...in more than one case I am aware of these relationships devolved into a love/hate - love/hate relationship with a great deal of physical, mental and emotional abuse. In one instance, it became a case of murder-suicide. No way to treat someone you love.

I'm not quite sure the details but I believe it has to do with the power of three.
I have considered using "spells" for my own self gain, but I don't want something to "work" for me only through a spell that was cast....I want things to happen if they are meant to be.
