i'm not pregnant and don't have any kids - BUT a girlfriend of mine recently had a baby.
when we were discussing pregnancy tests, she had the same outcome as you but around the other way - one negative, then one positive.
she explained to me that you can get a false negative, but you cannot, cannot get a false positive. the thing changes colour responding to a hormone that your body creates when you are pregnant. it cannot change colour any other way.
see your doctor, get them to do a blood test so you'll know for sure.
my fingers are crossed for you!

I would collect a cup of pee first thing in the morning and use the DOLLAR STORE or the 99Cent store pregn test and buy 2 tests there. They have a high level for dectecting HCG. I bought all kinds of test and the expensive one and all that gave me False positives. The dollar store and the 99 cent store have always given be the correct results.
Do 2 tests with the same pee and if there is a faint line u are pregnant :)

With OTC pregnancy tests its very very common to get a false negative. It's nearly impossible to get a false positive. I took an OTC pregnancy test and it was positive and my mom refused to believe it and argued with doctors for hours on how it had to be a false positive. They told her it was almost impossible and I ended up being pregnant. Lost the baby, but I was pregnant. See a doc to confirm but I would say its a yes!

If it came back positive, then you are most likely pg. Maybe the second test was with diluted urine and was unable to show + hcg. I day overdue is still kind of early for some tests.

I suppose its possible if it were a true positive. If it was faint then it may have been wrong. I would wait like 3 days or so to retest and see what happens. Your hormone levels are what indicate on the tests so it may not have been enough or maybe your 2nd one was done "just right".
Good luck!

I am not a Dr. but my suggestion is to take one more test and make an appt. to see a dr. I think that the next one will tell you what you want to know. Your hCG levels double day to day. It is very rare that you get a false positive no matter how faint the line.

Did you take them right when you got up in the morning? Because that plays a big factor in test results. First morning urine in generally needed. You could either buy another test and take it tomorrow morning, like they say third times a charm, or possibly find a free clinic in your area to do a pregnancy test. Good luck!!

Simple! Consult a gynecologists, get a pregnancy test done at a laboratory equipped to do so. There were some inconsistencies in you process and therefore two different results.

When they say the test is like 95% accurate it is usually the negative that is the wrong one.
