Sometimes snail eggs can be on plants when you add them to your aquarium. I have some in mine and I haven't been able to completely get rid of them.

You can try these different ways to get rid of them...

One, get snail eating fish like different loaches. Zebra and bengal loaches are some of the smaller ones that will eat the snails.

Two, try placing a leaf of lettuce at the bottom of the tank at night. The snails should all go to the lettuce and then you can remove them on the lettuce in the morning.

Three, try "Had A Snail" or other commercial snail exterminating chemicals. Out of these 3 I would avoid this last option if you can.

Sometimes when you buy plants form the pet shop they always have snails eggs on them they will keep breeding and breeding if you want them to stop breeding they wont cause snails dont need a other snail to breed they can breed by them selfs so if dont want them take them to a pet shop all if you have a lake near by just put them in there all take them to the pet shop. When i bought my plants i had 1 snails and 2 weeks later i had 2 them it kept going but snails are good for your tank cause they eat all the left over food so if you dont want them just take them to the pet shop

hope this helps
thanks

The best way to get rid of them right now is the vegetable bait explained in the following link
they came with your plants, and are called mystery snails which multiply like crazy
the vegetable bait always worked for me when i had snails, you might need to repeat it for a few nights

Snails suck. I started with a few last month. I now have at least 100-200 in my 10 gallon tank. Its all I see when I look into it. Remove them fast.

If you see any snails, remove them immediately. Try to remove any egg sacs as well, they are small, clear, jelly-like sacs on the glass, rocks, and plants.

If you can't get them all out, you might want to get a loach that eats snails. Clown loaches and yo-yo loaches work well.

Snails are good. Snails eat algae growing in your tank. Snails cost money at the pet store, so you got freebies! Keep 'em.
