my top 5 rookies in order:
1. kevin durant - the best player in this draft. he is unguardable bec of his size, quickness, explosiveness to the basket and his decent touch from the outside.. he is the future of the sonics franchise
2. mike conley jr. - he will average probably aroung 12ppg and 6apg.. he has some good targets such as mike miller, rudy gay, darko and spaniards navarro and gasol to pass for. watch for the grizz to be in the mix for the playoffs
3. al thornton - his production will be much needed bec of brand's injury..
4. al horford - he will be the hawks best player off the bench or probably the starting forward (if marvin williams will come off the bench). he will end up as hawks 3rd or 4th leading scorer.
5. marco belinelli - one of the players that will cover the production of j rich.. his deadly ouside touch is a perfect fit for warriors' run n gun offense.

Kevin Durant. Why? Here:
Al Horford still has to battle with Marvin Williams and Josh Smith for the starting PF position and playing time, probably. And he doesn't have to score much since they have Joe Johnson on the team. So not him.
Greg Oden is INJURED. And even if he's not, he is still very raw on the offensive end. And he still has to work on his foul trouble tendencies. Maybe after a year or more, he'll be more or less a solid Hakeem-like center. But not in his rookie season. Like Nowitzki in his first years, I think he still has to adjust a lot. So not him.
Mike Conley Jr. is a very good passer, but not much of a scorer. And since he has limited talent on his team, just Gasol and Mike Miller, he would have to execute a Chris Paul-esque performance this season to pull it off and be this year's ROY. So I'm not that sure about him. But he's one of my probable bets.
Kevin Durant has a potential to be a prolific scorer for the Sonics right away, since the Sonics have lost all their star scorers. They would probably rely on him to carry most of the scoring, and most probably he can do it.. and he has shown his talent in the Team USA scrimmage where he scored 22 points. So he's my bet to be this year's ROY.
There. Durant for ROY! =)

No disrespect to Durant, but I'm going to bet "Captain Clutch" aka "Mr. Clutch" Acie Law will be the Rookie of the Year. He's a great penetrator, uses his body well to finish, is not afraid of the big shot, he's got the ability to take over a game late and he should start over Claxton for the most part.
Durants summer League numbers:
5 34.6 25.0 1.8 0.4 1.60 0.40 .333 .250 .869
Laws Summer League Numbers:
6 27.6 13.6 2.4 6.0 0.40 0.00 .440 .200 .821

Hard to argue against Durant right now. One of the best from the draft playing on a team with no scorers. But I wouldn't sleep on Al Horford. He's an athletic big man that's pretty polished and experienced already. Playing on a size depleted Hawks team wouldn't hurt either.

Durant. With Oden out and with him as the centerpiece of the Sonics squad it's a no question.
Kevin Durant will win the Rookie of the Year.

Seattle's Kevin Durant, the overall No. 2 selection.
He is destined to be the only rookie to average 20+ points a ballgame, mark my word.
