A perfect stranger is more often than not likely to be friendly, helpful and display goodwill..... the gesture gains even more weight in our view because we have had no expectations in the first place.

It is unfortunately the known people with whom we have some relationships that the possibility of ill-will or indifference arises, more so because these actions and abstinence of the concerned person are viewed against expectations we have had due to the relationship.... for that reason, the closer the relationship, the greater would be the possibility of hurt and anguish.

Yes, on several occasions. The most memorable time was when I was taking treatment for Cancer and I was so sick I couldn't drive home and my husband was in a meeting and this couple were sitting next to me. The husband drove my car home and the wife followed with me in her car. They made sure I was alright in my home before they left. They left quickly as the wife was 15 minutes late for her own treatment. I still smile when I think of them. They were beyond wonderful. She put me ahead of herself. Never found out their name of anything, I was too sick. I thanked God. Always kept an out for them though.
