The ancient Mayans celebrated death. Were they wrong or right? When one celebrates life they should realize they are celebrating death too. They are inseparable, two processes of the same thing, and never-the-less we willingly or subconsciously dissect them, extract them, and separate them to bolster our desires to understand. Usually what goes up comes down and as much as you want to think being giddy and joyed with life may ease the pains life unleashes, ultimately you as every creature on this world shall experience it. There are other means to easing and helping with sorrow and disorder... being "happy" may work for you, if so then that is fine. I will choose to be feel sorrow and experience the ups and downs as best as I can. Each to their own :-)

Your phrase, "Life is meant", implies a designer or creator of your life whose design included celebration. In other words, your question requires God.

If you had said that it feels good to celebrate, that would be different.

If we reject God, life has no purpose nor meaning nor point. In that case, celebrating is just a psychological trick to keep us from thinking about our meaningless existence.

I agree. Life should be cherished, and people need to realize how lucky they are to have lives. Lives that they have the potential to do so much with. We never know what day will be our last day, so we should consider every day we have alive to be valuable. So valuable that we will want to not only do productive things, but we will want to savor and enjoy life.

Yes indeed, lets have a party shall we? Why not celebrate now, I WAS waiting for my first "best answer" question to be rewarded, but what the heck.
