No, it's complete fiction. If you were to learn real "magick" I'm afraid you'll be disappointed to learn it's actually rather tedious work and nothing like Harry Potter at all. Sorry kid, no party and games in this one.

Magick is the umbrella term for all the crafts and talents.

Magick is the inexplicable. Some magick becomes science. Some Magick is called Miracles. Some Magick will never be understood.

Example of Magick becoming science: Healers and midwives of many centuries ago would dip cloth into a cauldron of boiling water with various herbs before wiping a cut or wound to cleanse it mumbling prayers to one God or another. Then it was called Magick or Witchcraft, today it is called medical sanitation and sterlization.

On telekinesis, if you have the talent you can be put on a rigorus course of practice to strengthen the talent. This will not be days or months, but years or decades.

I don't IM, but will accept YA e-mail.

Not like in Harry Potter, my dear. Sorry.
I do energy work and work with oils and herbs and things like that, but not magick. (though some days it sounds like I do. Maybe I'm kidding myself lol) Casting spells isn't a requirement to be a witch. You might find that spells aren't too different than prayers (just talking to who you deem as a higher power or deity). Thanking them, asking for blessings or help, etc. If you're looking to get into it because you like Harry Potter, you will be quite disappointed. There's many wonderful attributes in the world out there that we ignore, but you'll find them when you're ready to see them. :)

One can never move the mountain without taking a handful of dirt first.

Think about that one first before you start trying to investigate the Harry Potter wand witchery of Dark Arts.

A more realistic association to magik would be the movie THE CRAFT.
