Well violent video games just let you do it on the game instead of in real life. But, that's why it is not recommended to younger people.

To be honest i don't think that violent video games are that bad. I have made a grave error by letting my little brother who is only 9 play GTA San Andreas and other such titles that include blowing up people, drug activities, stealing and cheating. My little brother lies more than ever and he cheats a lot too. I guess this whole violent video game issue is a question about "when is a person mature enough to handle violent video games". Some people are immature and even when they reach the age of 18 they still act a wee bit immature when it comes to playing video games.

Depends on the age. Violent video games are not good for children who may try to act out what they see, just as violent movies aren't good for children. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with violent video games!

I don't think violent video games are bad at all.
I think when parents and others worry about their children and this whole generation choosing to do things they see on video games, It's not the video game, it's the kids stupidity choosing to do so.

the reason people think that they are bad or violent is because the over-all theme if the game is not something that should be practiced in real life
games like grand theft auto for example..

There is a large and growing body of evidence that playing violent video games leads people to commit acts of violence themselves. This applies to people of all ages and all walks of life, from kindergarten children to adult policemen, nurses, ministers. This seriously coarsens civilization and such video games ought to be completely and always banned.

There is nothing wrong with violence in any form of entertainment as long as it doesnt hurt anyone. What is bad is when a parent lets thier 4 year old play a bloody game or one with nudity.

i think violent games are actually a good thing, they prepare us for the world as it is : uncensored.
they never censor the war in Iraq on the news, why should we censor the bloodshed in games like grand theft auto
besides, if the parents were responsible, they would notice if something were wrong between their child and the game, duh!
