In the house I've lived in for almost three years, we have lost significant water pressure in our kitchen. I used to be able to use our dishwasher with little problem, now I can barley rinse the dishes I do by hand. It's down, almost, to a trickle. What could be the problem and how can it be fixed?

I took the aerator off last week and it was doing fine then all of the sudden it went down to a trickle. The other question is mine as well.

Well, I'll let the boys below (or is it above?) give all the details, but *FIRST* start by simply unscrewing the aerator from your faucet. (You may need plyers to unscrew it.) Often, with time, they get clogged with junk. Simply wash it out by running the water thru it backwards, and they usually clean right up. Screw it back on, and there ya go! :D If it is still full of junk and you cant wash it out, or brush it out with a stiff brush, replace the aerator. They only cost a few dollars at Home Depot or a hardware store. If that doesn't work, do what the boys say. :) Men are so handy for fixin stuff! :D

Is it an old house that uses steel water pipes?
