Gatorade was the first product of it's type on the market. It earned "brand name" status. Sort of how a photocopy is referred to as a xerox. They were the only game in town and became famous. Power Aid came late to the scene and will be seen as a copy cat to the originator for some time.

I am a gatorade junkie.. and I can't stand the taste of power aid its just nasty tasting to me.. So I would have to say because power aid sucks lol

I agree with Moon.....Powerade is NASTY! How anybody can drink the stuff, I don't know. Gatorade Is one of my favorite drinks, especially Blue Frost.

Because they have more commercials and advertise more. Think about how many Powerade commercials you see.
