links to tank supplies for the turtle docks they have in the tanks at the fish or reptile stores? I need something sturdy. My pond turtle is in a tank and she can't get out of the water to bask because she falls off the dock. I have bought the largest dock in the store along with a a hollow log that floats and its pretty big..and she just can't do it. I need a solid rock that will stay in position and she can just climb up onto but nothing that floats. Those don't agree with her. Thanks!

Here's what I did. I have a Female Florida Cooter and she is about 13 inches. I also ran into the same problems as you have she would get on the large turtle dock and it would sink or she would fall off of it. So I went to my local lake and hauled a bunch of shale slate rock back from the lake back to my house and built her a rock dock. I was able to find flat long pieces to build her a dock and it work perfectly. Just make sure that you dont bump your tank or your will get some good sized scratches in the glass.

I had a big turtle, and I can tell you, non of those docks work. You can get a bird sunning perch to put on the side of the tank (it hooks over the edge, doesn't float) or you can build up a pile of rocks until you reach the top of the water. The rocks looks the most natural and also give them some hiding places, or places to hunt fish (if you feed her fish with the pellets).

I would pile up rocks (make sure they can't fall or be pushed over) or you can wedge a piece of cork board tightly into the tank--makes a suitable basking spot.
