Please help, my husband and I have been married for two years, and we have a five month old son. Recently things have escalated and he has become extremely insecure and controlling, which he has had these tendencies before, but they have gotten worse. He has accused me of cheating on him (which has absolutely NEVER happened), and he won't talk to me, he just yells, says hurtful things and then leaves. He can be such a loving and wonderful person, but then sometimes its like a switch goes off. I love him and I want things to work out not just for us, but for our son too. How can I get him be rational and just talk to me? How do you reason with someone like this? Leaving is not something I want to do, we have a son, and I am desperate to make it work.

ok...you can't "get him to be rational and just talk" to you. Abuse happens in cycles...it gets worse as time goes on...even though he's nice sometimes, the abuse will get worse. I suggest you call a local YWCA or women's shelter. They have groups that will help you cope with what is going on at your house. Do this for you and your baby

Sounds like he may be a little bit codependent, perhaps a little bipolar.

Counseling. Check with your/his employer for Employee Assistance Program benefits to get the ball rolling.

It won't get better on its own. Take action. Good luck.

I am sorry to say that but from my experience when people start accusing their love ones of cheating and making scenes about it without having any reason, it is because they are the ones who cheat and feel guilty about it. To cover their own guilt, they accuse others. Sorry.
