what you just said made no sense just cuz hank was good doesnt mean he cheated like barry did, hank had pure talent. if barry would have never tooken steriods he would have hit a lot less.

The only year that should be in question is the year he hit 73. Besides that season he was always in the mid 30s to the mid 40s. He hit 46 in 1993...The third highest of his career. Every era had some sort of advantage. I like to use Ruth as an example here...He is the most over rated player in history because he was playing against bums...African Americans, Japaneses, or any other races were not allowed to play (think about who the best players in baseball are today...Ichiro, Arod, Ordonez, Pujols, Santana, Wang, Jeter, Soriano)...Aaron would have been chasing Josh Gibson if they were. It just so happens Bonds played when everyone was taking drugs. He was hitting home runs off pitchers who were using steroids (Gagne, Clemens, Johnson, Schilling...) and please remember steroids don't always make you bigger (Palmero). If you look at Arod as a rookie and look at him now there is a HUGE difference...The same could be said for Griffey as well. You get older you get bigger...Its normal...So the point of all this is we have NO clue what is real and what inst...Which then means everything that happens is what it is. Bonds is the home run king weather you like it or not...And to answer the question who knows what players did back then to enhance their performance...Just like now we will never know the truth.

Hank Aaron looked like a normal human being, and was a nice man. He never hit over 60 home runs; just hit great, and consistent for many, many years.
Bonds use of steroids made him look somewhat like a freak, especially compared to his prior appearance. Steroids also cause excess testosterone, changing his personality to one of an aggressive jerk. His hitting went from pretty decent to freakish, like his new drug changed body.

Hank Aaron might have been good enough to set that record without steroids. Perhaps Barry Bonds was not able to do it without steroids.

They weren't well known then so it is doubtful he had access to them. If ball parks are still the same size, wouldn't hit balls go further now that pitchers are throwing them faster? I think that explains Bond's feat in some regards.
