There are several different body (soma) cells...(also there are sex cells --gamate= i.e. sperm egg, which are entirely different.) Some cells like skeletal and muscle cells can be very long to very narrow in shape and size. And nerve cells can stretch the entire length of your body! (like the nerve cells connecting your finger muscle to your brain!)

I have never seen an extraterrestrial alien, but the accounts of people who say they have usually agree on their humanoid appearance. I have given this some thought and don't have any real answers. It seems to me that their close resemblance to humans would indicate some relationship to us. I suppose that it might be possible that a planet with the same conditions as Earth could develop life in the same manner, hence a similarity in form. Bilateral symmetry may just be the most efficient form. I have even speculated that they might be time travelers from our future. It is also possible that people expect them to have a humanoid appearance, so that is what they attribute to them. I don't suppose that we will learn the answers any time soon. Edit: I found Anonymous Viking's comment on their "catch and release" activities interesting because that is what we do to study other animals. We tranquilize them, take samples, implant a tracking device, release them, then track and study them. After some time period elapses, we catch the animal again and check it over. It sounds a lot like what aliens reportedly do with humans.

Not at all; they vary greatly according to their specific function. Some nerve cells are over a foot long. Muscle cells are also elongated. Skin cells of the epidermis are small & compact, enabling them to fit together & make up the visible portion of the skin.

No, they are all completely different...even the blood cells have different sizes because they are like people, they grow and multifply as they grow they shape and contour themselves into the space they have to live in....get the picture?

No, not at all! Every tissue has a different shape cell with a different weight. Good question.

Of course not. Lining and covering cells are flattish like shingles. Nerve cells can be very long and thin - like as long as your leg. Muscle cells can be long and thin while red blood cells are more like a frisbee. Egg cells are big, sperm cells are tiny.

No, they have different properties depending on what they are used for in your body.
