Computers have an internal cell battery the size of a penny that keeps an internal clock ticking. But if you dont turn on the computer for a few years the battery's charge dwindles and loses track of time.

There is a small "watch battery" on the motherboard, which keeps the internal clock "ticking" (not literally) even when the computer is unplugged.

Computers have little batteries in them that lets them keep time and other information to help start them up. Usually, it's the same kind of battery as the ones found in watches.
