Does the U.S. always need an enemy so the people will support the government? Will the government invent an enemy if there ever comes a time when we don't have one?

America to many around is the world is the enemy
America to many of its own citizens is the enemy
but you know what America is its own worst enemy it is just either to Blind. Greedy or too consumed with its own Global and financial domination to see it. bring back Bill Clinton and Get rid of the devil himself that gun tooting war mongering liitle man who bombed a country cos he just did not like what the bad man said to his daddy.

It's more like the enemy found us and well before the fall of the Soviet Union. You don't recall the Iranians attacking the US embassy in 1979 and holding Americans hostage for 444 days during the Carter admin?

You clearly are not well educated in American history and in particular the isolationist mentality that existed though most of the countries history.

The concept of America actively exerting its military beyond North America is relatively new.

Beyond the world wars which can be argued that they were in response to attacks on American soil and interests. it really only started during the cold war.

The cold war was the exception not the rule of American military focus, sadly though it is becoming the rule.

If it wern't for America and its people half of the world would be living under communist, totalitariam regimes not to mention the dictatorships. Hitler, Stalin, Sadam not metion all the other nuts that America has taken care of for other weaker opressed nations. So quit hating and try participating.
