Try Isopropyl alcohol, (rubbing alcohol). Place a small amount on a cloth and wipe it off.

I have a trick I use for dry erase marker thats been on a D/E board for a while. It also works for permanent magic marker on a D/E board.
D/E marker is a pigment dissolved in a solvent. When you mark something, the solvent evaporates and leaves the pigment in place. After a while, the pigment gets so hard it's tough to remove.
Go over a small part of the mark you want to remove with a D/E marker. Press hard to force the solvent into the mark. Then, QUICKLY wipe the whole mess off with a clean piece of toilet paper, which is extremely absorbent. Theoretically, the solvent will dissolve the existing pigment and allow you to wipe it off.
I've used this trick on smooth surfaces a lot, and it works every time. However, it may take repeated applications. If the surface of the plastic is rough or porous, it might not work as well or at all.
Some of your other responses recommend nail polish remover or alcohol. Alcohol works well for ball point pen, but I've never tried it on marker. Nail polish remover is based on Acetone, but it usually has oils or aromatics mixed with it. Try pure Acetone - you can get it at the paint or hardware store. Pure Acetone will probably work, but it might mar the surface of the plastic.
I personally think the D/E marker trick works the best becausing your using the exact same solvent (in the marker) that deposited the mark in the first place.
Happy rubbing!!

Others have said that putting more dry erase over the existing and wiping it off almost immediately works. I have some Tupperware containers with dry erase content messages on the side that have been washed many times without fading the stuff much.

Magic erasers work wonders. Also if he is anything like my 3 artists, the eraser will take permanent marker off the walls.

You can try rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or a gum eraser. If all else fails, try Magic Eraser.
