Well I got my daughters about 4 weeks after my daughter was born. But with her Birth Certificate it took me longer then the social security #. So it just depends.

I am from Ohio and I received both at the same time. I would call the place you ordered her birth certificate from to see what the hold up is.

Best of luck with your newborn. I have a 12 week old.

4 to 6 wks. if it takes longer, you can get a number for soc sec from the hospital ur child was born. i made sure that on the copy of the birth certificate, everything was correct, so look it over to make sure the address is correct. it should get there soon.

I think it depends on your state guidlines each state is different but I know here in Ky you have to have a birth certificate before you can apply for a social security #. Call your local social security office and ask them what they think

It used to be that when you went to the office, they would print the card out while you're there. That was many years ago, though. With both of my kids, the paperwork was done at the hospital. We got the cards 2 days after the kids came home.

It takes 4-6 weeks. If you don't get it by then call the local office.

It took about a month to get my daughter's, you should expect it soon. You're lucky you got her birth certificate, I have to go get my daughter's and pay $12 for it!
