I just bought a new ATI Radeon X1650 Pro, I've installed the hardware and removed the old drivers, but when I attempt to install the new ones with the cd that was included with the card, it stops the installation and asks to setup my display adapter with a standard VGA driver. I'm running an Intel Pentium 4 and an Intel motherboard.

intel.com go to the download section and download the driver for the board chipset. if you dont know the chipset go to the board manufacturers website, identify it through the specification sheet and go back to intel to download it.

Uninstall any and all graphics card drivers you have on your system, then reboot, XP should use the VGA driver. Else try going into Safe Mode, XP uses the VGA driver there by default, then try installing your ATI drivers.

Good day....You don't need a standard vga driver....try to re seat your video card...your computer did not detect the new video card you installed....it should be detected by windows for you to install the new drivers.....
