I think I have the best answer: For the Money.
In higher education, they all have hopes to one day BE a neocon, living off the sweat of others while they lounge in their sumptous Bergamo recliner in rich cognac-colored leather.
The majority of the Hollywood elite are merely panderers for Sony and Fox, everyone has been bought and sold.(Or their career destroyed, so Sony could get all their royalties forever when they are declared on drugs and insane.Witness: Britney Spears being ridden out of town on a rail-they want her library of music-I dread the day there is the Britney retrospective. It will mean true entertainment for it's own sake is dead, talent doesn't count)
Of course big business worships the current administration, how else would they have gotten so big? (There used to be laws about that) It's all about the money.
As for the media, again, bought and sold. If you don't do as you're told, you are out. Witness Bill O'Reilly, spouting hate while claiming to be the conservative right. I thought the media right had compassion, but I was wrong. They are dirty two faced dogs. Like Ann Coulter, calling John Edwards a -you know what she called him- and calling Cindy Sheehan um well, you remember what she said. I bet she profited monetarily from those remarks.
Madonna, now, she is even somewhere else on the map, studying Ba'al, and all the tenets that make that religion controversial, a sort of indifference, uncaring except for self, as in Aleister Crowley's statement, "Do what thou wilt." Meaning, "And so shall I." Remember when Madonna expressed herself? She got in trouble.
The world doesn't really want the people of America dead. They want the people in this government dead. We, the people, have made it clear all over the world that we don't approve of our government's actions. They see our protests, and they also see it's falling on deaf, deadened ears. We can only hope they understand that a government that would skillfully pick off a people in Iraq, can surely be as cruel to it's own people.
Hopefully, and inevitably, this too shall pass, time marches on, and like all evil dictatorships, despots, and unholy rulers, their own deaths will overcome them, from old age and various reasons, and their ideals will die too, and the people shall find a new tyrant to worship.
For the money.

Probably they are less brainwashed in worshiping democracy?
Imagine democratic elections in Iraq - with nationalist pro-Kurdish party, pro-Sunny and pro-Shiites neutral parties running for the office? Who is going to win if 65% of population are Shiites?
And guess what they are going to do with Sunny and Kurds?
Also take a look on post-Soviet countries. Which of them have true working democracy now?
And is there a democratic Arabian country?
Oh, and what do you think about discrimination of Arabs in democratic Israel?
One of the other problems is that majority of voters in any country are dumb or don't care enough and they are easily controlled by propaganda.

Hero- worship - give an example. Engaging other leaders in dialog is just plain sense.
Anyway - the hero worship of dictators (such as Pinochet, Saddam, Marcos and Soeharto) has always been 100% the domain of the Reaganites.

That's an excellent question.
Apparently, they don't like the United States very much - that's quite evident in their constant efforts to change it.
"Why" is the tough part of your question.
It beats the hell out of me why this most seemingly educated and elite group would choose to slam the country that provided them with the opportunity to become so successful in the first place.

Why aren't you screaming at Bush for saying that capturing Bin Laden is "not a priority"? He already killed THOUSANDS of Americans.
Instead of impotently whining about a speech at Columbia by a guy that Bush is allowing into the country in the first place?
