You bet. For example, Elizabethan women would pluck their eyebrows until they were pencil-thin and also pluck their hairlines so that they had a fashionably high forehead. Queen Elizabeth had similar features, and she set the fashion standards in the last 40 years or so of the 16th century. They also put lead and mercury on their faces as a facial.

Victorians mostly didn't, unless they were music hall girls. but you can see paintings of Queen Elizabeth I, and she did. Egyptians did, and they shaved body hair (the women shaved their heads to wear wigs just like the men did).

yup they definately did...i know this because in some ancient religious scriptures, it is forbidden to remove hair from one's eyebrows (for women)...which means some women used to :)
