Plenty of eye contact-engage them
Use support material(stories, quotes, statistics) that supports your speech, but is good for your audience age
Ask questions that make your audience think-not just the "yes/no" questions
Move around a little

You need to use Ethos Pathos and Logos. It is just a speech term. Just make sure to really dig into their emotions by questioning or cementing their morals, values and beliefs. If you question these things, it will make your job as a speaker harder, but if you succeed, it will make your speach all the better. If you go along with their beliefs etc. then it will be easier for you to relate to them, however it wont make your speech as powerful.
