Hello everyone. I go in tomorrow for my 7th month visit, and i'm really having bad back pains, and after work i get really bad tummy cramps, and pains. Can anyone tell me what the doc will do for this, or if there something i can take besides tylenol cause that does nothing for me. also i have my glucose (sp?) tomorrow, and how long does it take to get the results back on that? I'm a bit nervous this time around cause i started off a bit over weight. One more thing on the back pain i'm only 27 weeks, and i know it will get worse, but do they put you on bed rest for that? It's so bad sometimes i can't sleep. Thanks for your help!

i'm not too sure on the back pain issues! bed rest might end up being a solution if it gets worse. regarding the glucose testing i guess there are a few different ways they test. some just do a finger prick and others actually draw blood. i had to drink the orance stuff which didn't taste as bad as everyone said. it was like flat/sweet orance soda and i had to sit in the waiting room for 1 hour. then when the called me back they pricked my finger and the results were back in less then 15 seconds. on this little hand held machine but i think the drawing of blood might take longer.....not for sure! good luck on both and with baby! Remember....that back pain will be worth it in the end!

Back pain is normal. If your contractions become more severe and consistent, you'll have to cut back on your work load. If it continues and you end up with preterm labor because you're doing too much THEN you'll be on bed rest.

Go swimming. Thats what helped me the most.

You get the test results the next day, generally they only give them to you if theres a problem.

with the back pain try heatpacks! they help heaps i know cos i 39weeks now but last year was on workers compensation for back probs and heat packs are great. Elastaplast have an 8hr heat pack that sticks on all day and as my old manager said better than sex-lasts longer anyway. you should be able to get them or something similar from your pharmacy. Good luck

the glucose testing takes approximately 1 week to process. I am sure the doctor can prescribe something but the question is do you want to take it? and risk harming your baby.
