It would help if you defined ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode?)

IIS and Apache are two well used web servers. IIS usually ships with Windows and Apache is usually used with UNIX or Linux. I have used IIS and have not had any issues but I know people who use Apache and have not complained either.

With IIS all you have to is turn it own and make a default.html page (or what ever you set as the starting page) in the root folder and build from that. To access the page just pull up internet explorer and type the address of the server.

IF you are running Windows, just load WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySql,Php) it is simple to install in a matter of minutes in many cases and runs a full Apache server with database and php support. Just download and install -- its free

Or you can use the linux version which does the same thing. Usually included on nearly ALL linux distibutions. Linux is more secure and much more stable than the windows version but either will work for development or a low hit site.

Good Luck
