Carbonated beverages are fine. Most doctors recommend limiting them because of the sugar content but they don't tell you NOT to drink them. The only thing to avoid is drinking a lot of caffeine. Caffeine free sodas are fine!

No, but if you have undiagnosed kidney problems, it can make them worse. When you are pregnant, your kidneys are under quite a load (which is why they always are checking your urine). Many doctors recommend that you cut it down to only 1 carbonated beverage a day.

My daughter turned out fine. During the 1st trimester I lived on diet gingerale. The rest of the pregnancy I limited my diet coke intake to one can a day.

I'm not a doctor. Howver, I do know that soda robs the body of certain nutrients such as vitamin C. So, it's better to be safe than sorry. Drink h20 and sugar free fruit drinks.

Nope, not harmful... they may cause gas though, but what doesn't when you're pregnant? However, they say you should cut back on your caffeine while pregnant, which a lot of carbonated drinks contain.

My doc recommended gingerale, mineral water or sprite for my horrible heartburn that I constantly get; it's pretty bad.. It helps loads. A pharmacist also recommended those starbright mints for heartburn.. I just got a bag, we'll see how that works.

I sure hope not! I have been drinking ginger ale and everything seems to be going very well with my baby. However, caffeine can be harmful to the baby.

No, but they can give a pregnant women really bad heartburn. And drinking coke is not very good, because your body can't absorb iron if you do.
