I can ride Space Mountain though at Disneyland, but I think that's it.

Then my answer to your question is no you could not ride Mission Space. It is way more intense than Space Mountain. While Space Mountain has very little G's, Mission Space has more G- forces than a space shuttle to outer space. Very intense ride.

Tough to say. This is like comparing apples to oranges. Mission:Space is nothing like a Roller Coaster. It's a simulator that creates g-forces. It is not really a thrill ride, but it's still pretty cool. If you can handle Star Tours or Body Wars without much problem, you could handle Mission: Space.

Mission: Space spins so that g-forces can be created. The roughest part of the ride is the initial blast-off. Once you break the atmosphere, the rest of the ride is not nearly as intense as the first few seconds.

Warning, this ride comes equipped with air sickness bags. I've never seen roller coastes have them, but then I don't get out much....

I suggest you stick with the Green Team when you go in Mission Space. The Green Team does not spin. However, it is a small space and it can be claustrophobic.

The Orange Team is the side of the ride that spins...it is a centrifuge type ride...it spins very rapidly to simulate the effect of "blasting off". Orange Team is much more intense and has a propensity for motion sickness.

Yes, there are motion sickness bags on the ride.

I only got in line for it once. This was long before the scaled-down version was installed (there was only the Orange Team at that time). I'm a roller coaster fanatic and I'll ride anything...but I could not force myself to get on Mission Space. I took the chicken-sh*t line straight to the exit. I just can't do spinners anymore.

EMT

When Mission Space first opened, Disney used to give out free fast passes to the ride of choice if people could make it to the trash cans to throw up after they got off the ride. Disney had to repeatedly close down the ride for "clean-ups" when people did not make it that far. There used to be a bunch of trash cans lined up at the exit as a "vomit station". Yuck.

Space Mountain and Mission:SPACE are not even close to the same ride. Space Mountain is a Rollercoster. Mission:SPACE has 2 versions one is a centrifuge based ride where you will pull a lot more G's. The other is identical but they turn off the centrifuge so it is not as intense.

If you can do Space Mountain then you can do the "Green Team" which is where the Centifuge is turned off. Just follow the signs and don't worry about accidentally getting in the "Orange" line. They ask several times to make sure you are in the correct line. If you make it through the Green Mission then you can decide if you want to attempt Orange.

Mission space is a motion stimulator, not a roller coaster - though it is pretty intense! I personally love it because I like these types of rides, but if you don't like spinning, g-forces, turbulance, etc. then mission space may not be for you. It is a cool ride though, because you feel like an astronaut during takeoff and in space. However, there is a lesser intense version (green team) that does not spin you around.

But, you never know unless you try it. I never knew that I loved roller coasters until I rode one - this ride is not to be missed, I don't think you can find another ride like it unless you are training to become a real astronaut. It's really cool, don't pass it up!

i dont like rollercoasters either, my reason is they make me feel really tense like i'm going to explode. I have tried to work on calming myself and relaxing on rollercoasters at DIsney World and it actually helped a lot. One thing i HATE is 0 G's like on MGM's Star Tours ride. it makes me instantly want to puke. Since Mission Space -orange team is all spinning -NO WAY! i'd try the green team, now that i know they have a less intense version. I've yet to go on Rockin Rollercoaster b/c i havent been upside down on a rollercoaster before. Well, i would say try the green team. Depending on how you do with spinning and G forces, let that be your decision. Good luck.

I love rollerCoasters, but, I do have my doubts that I am ready for Mission Space, so, thats why, now that they have the less intense version of the ride, that I will go that route. When I survive the "Green Team" then I will promote myself to the "Orange Team" To quote Allen Shepard,: "God, Don't Let Us Screw Up".

Yeah, that is a very fun ride. It is nothing like a roller coaster.

Really all it does is push you against your seat and pull your cheeks back. It is a very fun ride and I lived it (though I AM SO a rollercoaster person). If you can ride Space Mountain, you can do Mission Space.

well, it depends... how do you feel about small spaces? the ride vehicle is kind of small. if you don't like small spaces then you might not like it. i have a friend that is claustrophobic and that is the only reason she will not go on it.

other than that if you go on the less intense mission (green, i think) you should be fine. it would make it similar to Soarin'.
