I'm not putting this post up to start an argument, Halo is in fact the best game ever... I'm not saying this because I believe that it is, I think that if more people played halo (not that there is already millions that do) I think people would agree with me. Mario, Final Fantasy, and Unreal Tournament are all indeed great selling games, and are the top selling games ever, but there is no comparison to Halo 1, 2, or 3. Halo 3 will be released in a day from now. I recommend everyone with an xbox 360 to buy it. Halo 3 will be one of the most top selling games in the world, that also means that it will be one of the most selling disc's in the world, and I'm not just talking about video games... I am talking about movies, cd's, games, pc games, anything that is a disc. If you believe that there is a better game than Halo, re-think that... Halo will never be beaten, it is in fact. The greatest game ever.

That is called your opinion, not a fact. The Halo series is very popular, but since I'm not a big fan of FPS games, of course I don't consider it to be the greatest series ever. And I have no plans to purchase an XBOX 360 until the whole "red ring of death" fiasco is straightened out. Game Informer magazine said that as many as 1/3 of the XBOX 360s already sold may be faulty. I don't like those odds.
Also, in my opinion, Final Fantasy is the best series ever. But that's just my opinion.

I dissagree.
It is great but not better than Nintendo series such as Mario or Zelda. As far as best game ever, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is by far the best, in my opinion only challenged by its sequel, Twilight Princess.
Also no matter how good Halo 3 turns out to be, you cant judge it before its release. Countless games have had a lot of things, like the things you said, said about them, only to not come even close to what they were supposed to be.
Lastly I don't think any game that gets an M rating can fully live up to its potential because of the largest portion of video game players, teenage boys, many of them are not allowed to have the games. no matter how good a game is, if you cant sell it to the people who want it, it will fail (or more likely, jut not do as well as expected). Give a game an E or T rating, your audience doubles.
Also, (and this is why i will always side with Nintendo on questions regarding video games) I think the mark of true excellence is being amazing with out having the first thing you think of about the game being its graphics or other less important things. It should be about fun first, and i have yet to see a non Nintendo game that fits those requirement.

Zelda series is the best even though I have halo 2 and cant wait for halo 3, a great game.
the greatest game ever ????? not really there are millions of Zelda fanboys i think even a bigger fanbase than halo even pokemon red blue and yellow have outsold halo 2 just search for it the best selling games of all time

Well, "matt", what's your last name, McMicrosoft? This looks like the most obvious piece of viral advertising ever. Halo is a great game, played the Beta for 3, the Beta was better than some full games i've played, but you can't call something a fact because you believe so, you need data, and graphs and stuff, so step off untill a company other than Microsoft claims that a Microsoft game is the best game ever. I'll believe it when Nintendo says it's the best game ever and so does Sony.

I agree, it has an excellent plot, great monsters, weapons, and characters. It's my first and the best shooting game that I've ever played! Halo is a great game. The most important reason Ive bought my 360 was mainy to play Halo 2 & 3! Im just going to be really happy to play and experience Halo 3 :D

I disagree and fail to see all the hype surrounding this game. I think Mass Effect will be 100x better than Halo 3 could every be (graphics, gameplay, customization) it wins hands down.
Sadly enough, it won't sell like Halo 3 will, but more sales doesn't necessarily mean 'better'. The backstreet boys sold more albums at the turn of the millenium than most other bands, but would you call them the best now? Heck no. Same principal.

I love the Halo series, it is AWESOME!!!! My favorite is Halo 2, but since I havent played Halo 3 yet, I'm guessing that is going to change!!!
What is your guy's favorite weapon and vehicle?
Mine is the sniper rifle, and the new Hornet( the Human's banshee)
I'm not saying that Halo is the Best game over all other games, yes it rocks hard and is the very best of its kind, but there are other games too. Like Mortal Kombat Armageddon, or Star wars Battlefront 2.
But over all of these the Halo series is my personal favorite.

dont get me wrong, its good (i have the first 2 games) but i prefer mario, timesplitters(say what u will, its my favorite series of all time), and GTA over halo any day.
