I was recently charged (April)with possesion of firearms illegally(2 of them). There is an obscure law that prohibits certain persons from being in possession or otherwise able to obtain a firearm.
I had no knowledge and upon research nor have many hundreds of other people in the same legal predicament I was in. I had obtaind 2 weopons from my fathers estate...I suppossedly had a 10 yr ban above the 3yr probation I had completed back in 2000. ...I was about 27 days short of that ban...I never owned or tried to own any weopons.
To make a long story short...I was looking at 2 yrs state prison and it was reduced to a minor noise violation with a fine...should I have tried to fight the whole thing in a trial and end up in prison or count my blessings and be glad I took the noise violation...which only is a $130 fine...and no other restrictions or probation.
During the Evidence hearing the DA and my atty. had the cops testify diiferent accounts of what happened....

And because of that the DA went ahead and offered 3 yrs probation and a $500 fine...I said no...so the same day the DA came back with a noise violation charge..the same as if someone was having a loud party...nly because someone was called about some shots fired....where it was legal to shoot in my area.

Wow. If you've ever been on probation, you have to not even THINK about risking breaking a law or possessing something you maybe shouldn't, because the cops and the d.a. are just out to get convictions (that's why they lie all the time). I would say you're very lucky to just get a little fine like that. Could have been much worse.

i used to be an ingesting issues counselor and that i'm able to inform you that that's an extremely stressful habit, as i'm particular you already know. the superb factor is to eat 3 balanced food an afternoon. in no way bypass a meal and only placed the quantity on your plate which you ought to have. This keeps you from getting too hungry. additionally...you quite start to maintain a healthful weight once you are attempting this too. (not over or below weight) Are there any open AA conferences you are able to pass to at night whilst this is toughest? I quite have got here across that OA has a tendency to concentration plenty on nutrition and relapse. AA focuses so plenty extra on habit and alter. once you pass to an open AA assembly (open, meaning you do not must be an alcoholic to attend), you are able to in basic terms say, "My call is _____ and that i'm in restoration." a great style of what they communicate approximately will pertain to you too. The longer you're in restoration, it gets less demanding. right that's an analogy i like to apply. in case you have ever had somebody nag and nag you continuously for something (think of of every physique who has ever carried out this to you), once you ultimately supply in, that individual realizes that this gets them what they like. So the subsequent time they nag you approximately something, in case you're saying no they attempt extra stable and pull out all of the stops...the guilt journeys, the tension, etc. that's like bulimia. suited now this is nagging you. in case you supply in, the subsequent time you're saying no, it is going to take longer for the nagging to give up. in basic terms save asserting no and eventually that nagging will pass away. yet for now, pass to a pair conferences and maybe get a sponsor you examine in with each night at time for dinner. stable success!
