Because dead birds don't fly.

Well you don't see alot of them because you may not be in a area where there is or was a dead bird, some get eaten by other animals, are in a place you cant see them and there are people to clean them up. So that may be why.

There are also millions of predators and scavengers.

I see more dead badgers and foxes in my job (train driver).

When i hit birds, which is quite often because they fly the wrong way to escape, they tend to explode on impact.

They end up as roadkill and the buzzards eat them quickly, or some other predator who likes dead birds, or they go to bird heaven immediately!
