Follow the direct order of the sentence:
"37% of £270"
% means "divide by 100"
of means "multiply"
The unit can be ignored :)
So, in order, you would push:
3 7 / 1 0 0 * 2 7 0 =
Likewise, you could remember that a percent simply moves the decimal place two spots to the left.
37% is the same as the decimal 0.37
In any event, the answer should be 99.9

this is very simple percent means hundredths so 37% of £270 so first devide 270 by 100 = 2.7 . 1% is therefore 2.7 or £2.70 you then multiply it by 37 =99.9 . if on the other hand something is £270 excluding vat and you want to know what the total will be you have to multiply by 100% + 17.5% so you would in the above case multiply 2.7 by 117.5 = £317.25.
tip press the = key after any operation i have found some calculators perform oddly otherwise.

37 is the same as 37.00
a percentage means put decimal two points to left so 37% is also .37
take .37 times 270 and that gets the money amount
p.s. its 99.9
no idea what cj means if u did that itd be more than 270
which is impossible because a percentage of something cant be more than the thing unless your over 100%
