What makes the 80s appeal to someone not born in the 80s? Just curious here.

I agree with the other three ahead of me. The 80's had the best music, and the fashions weren't too bad either. The 80's were the dawn of MTV (not that MTV is true to itself anymore) and music videos, and the music then just had a creative energy to it that nothing (or at least very little) since then has had. You could hear anything from bubble gum pop to heavey metal to ballads to political/social issues songs, and it just all sounded unique. So much today just sounds like cookie-cutter imitations of every other musician out there, and I really can't stand to listen to most of it.

I dunno. There's just something about the 80's that I love. I wasn't alive in the 80's but I love the 80's. People were actually unique and creative. I love the music. It just sounds good to me. I love the clothes and hair too. I'll take the 80's over any decade any day. The 80's will never die. I won't let it happen.

The 80's had some great music,but it was also a lifestyle.
Have a teenager rent Sixteen Candles,
Weird Science,and Pretty in Pink.
They will be hooked!

The music was just better to listen too than any other decade. My son loves listening to Mom's 80's music better than any other type. I love it when other generations listen to the 80's music-it keeps the 80's alive for me,,

i agree with both comments.. the
80's were a time for so much experimentation in music, unlike today...People and musicians were more expressive with their ideas. i think this is what appeals to the younger generation... the different combinations..

Being of the 80s generation, I have to say that the music was truer, and more inventive than it ever has been or will be.

I AGREE WITH ALL THE ANSWERS.80s MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE.THE MUSIC MAKES ME FEEL HAPPY EVEN THROUGH MY PROBLEMS,I DANCE TO IT AT TIMES(SMART DANCE THOUGH).WHEN DEPRESSED,IT MOTIVATES ME.I LOVE THE PEOPLE OF THAT GENERATION AND ALMOST EVERTHING ABOUT THEM.THE MUSIC SOUNDS SO REAL.
