I have a 2005 Dodge 1500 2WD with 48K miles on it and have already had to turn the rotors once. The rotors on it are factory and were turned about 3000 miles ago. I have put about 25K miles on the truck over the past 1 1/2 that I've had the truck and the shaking started about 5000 miles ago. I understand that hard heavy breaking can cause them to scallop, but I have not had to do any heavy breaking nor have I ever even pulled anything with my truck.

Aftermarket rotors are right up there with factory ones. You should use the factory pads. They will wear better and last longer.Wagner brake parts i use are as good as factory and last the same as factory at half the cost.
