Depends on what the problem is.
Homeostasis is the way the body stays in balance ... keeping a steady body temperature, maintaining the right amount of sugar in the bloodstream, keeping a stable blood pressure, and so on. A temporary problem with homeostasis can cause a person to feel faint or make them ill, but a permanent lack of homeostasis would be fatal.

Illness. The severity depends on how far out of homeostasis an organ system gets. The nature of the illness depends on which organ system is out of homeostasis, or at least which one started the problem. If one system is messed up, eventually the entire organism will die.

It would cause a inbalance in the human system. Organs would produce either more or less then they should, the bodies entire system would be thrown out of wack, just by one organ or system not functioning corretly. This would eventually cause faliure in the system.
