Ya! i agree Norv Turner is not head coaching material. Its a dumb move on the chargers half to go 14-2 and lose to the pats who are really good cameras or no cameras in a Playoff game last year by a F.G, then fire your coach after that season. It's not right expecially when it was a record breaking year for L.T and they were on a roll you give Marty another shot and dont fire him. To bad for the charger fans they did.

GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is what happens when a coordinator is ill-placed in the position of Head Coach. Some coaches are meant to be JUST coordinators (See Jauron and Crennel). When questions came up about Turner's previous two failures as Head Coach, there were plenty of excuses: The Redskin's ownership is screwed-up (which is probably valid) and no one can win in Oakland (which is BS, just ask John Gruden). Now there is NO excuse. It is still early in the season, and anything can happen. But the fact remains that Turner was given a Super Bowl team on a silver platter, and he has yet to take advantage. And please, no more excuses for this guy about the pressure of inheriting an extremely talented team. Mike Tomlin has also inherited a talented team, and they are convincingly 3-0 (granted, they have yet to play an elite team).

As much as I like Norv Turner, he is one of the nicest guys in the NFL, but he is not head coaching material. He has had plenty of chances and he has failed every time. He is one of the best OC out there, but he is not head coach. I think after the chargers miss the play off this year he will be gone never to head coach in the NFL again. I like him a lot, but that is truly what I feel.

Maybe,Turner not strong enough, However Spanos is too tight with the purse strings to get a top,top guy. On the other hand lets give Turner a chance,we have a tougher schedule this year.

its all a.j. smith's (chargers gm) fault. he's the one that released wade phillips, cam cameron, AND marty schottenheimer. now the chargers d is not being taught to play the aggressive "go get 'em" defense that they were playing last year. also, norv turner is relying on L.T. too much. i mean sure he's an awesome rb, but the first drive against the bears in the opening game this season was hand off to LT, pitch to LT, hand off to LT, pass to LT, pitch to LT, pass to LT, and hand off to LT. and if the chargers were going to go all the way, last year would have been the year to do it, because at the end of this season, we are losin' lorenzo neal and we already lost all our good coaching staff!

I agree completely with you. I mean your 14 and 2 and just b/c you don't when a playoff game against the patriots who are amazing in the post season you fire your coach? im my mind a horrible decision. Oh well hopefully they can regain something and do good this season. Go Chargers!

The problem is that they are built around the run. L.D. is a stud but everyone in the league already knows that, so they go after him. The Chiefs have the same problem. The Chargers need a passing game (like the Chiefs) and that will open up the run. Go Packers..........

Its not Turner's fault. It is the defensive coordinators fault - Ted Cotrell. He is too passive and doesn't put enough pressure on the quarterback. Marty is a bonehead who is a great preparer but a terrible game day tactician. He is destined for failure come playoff time. The big loss is Wade Phillips.

They're hungover from last seasons playoff loss to the Pats and the fact that the GM decided to fire Marty
